Global Fast - New Fishing Village Project in Haiti

Thanks to the fasting of thousands of you out there, there will be a second Global Fast fishing village project in Haiti! ... This time, the location is even more difficult to get to, and therefore an area that is even more underserved by most charities working in Haiti.

Provided in partnership with Food For The Poor, this fishing village will feed hundreds or thousands each day with 4 new fishing boats to replace old dugout-canoe style boats. The fishermen are taught how to fish in deeper waters, and how not to overfish any one area, so as to make their food source sustainable over the long run.

Please see the video below from the first fishing village, or see this awesome story by Dan Grech of the Americas Desk on National Public Radio on Marketplace: Global Fast - Creating Economies in Haiti.  The idea is not just to give a handout, but that our "opportunity" projects should actually create the foundations for small-scale economic growth -- leading to first-steps of shoes, medicine, schooling, etc. These things we take for granted are huge leaps forward in these remote villages of Haiti. Please keep them in your prayers.
